Pastoral Care
The function of Pastoral Care is to meet the spiritual needs of the Church and of those who are in a crisis at home and abroad. To bring rest to the weary; to restore the broken hearted; to bring restoration to families and, especially, to a right-standing with our Father in heaven.
This ministry acts as the extra hands and feet of the Pastor, representing him as we represent the One who saves, delivers and restores.
Pastoral Care, birthed through prayer, is coming to fruition as Ambassadors of Christ bring love and compassion to a hurting world.
Evangelism
We at Restoration Church believe that the most valuable thing to God is souls. The souls of men is the very reason Jesus came to earth. "For God so loved the world that He sent His only Son." John 3:16 This passage of scripture is probably the most well known in the church today. And the reason is simple - Jesus came to save that which was lost.
We are all called to evangelize. Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 5:18, "Now all things are of God, Who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation." God has called believers to proclaim the Gospel of reconciliation to others.
So, we at Restoration Church are answering the call of reconciliation and are equipping the saints to do the work of an evangelist - to share with family and loved ones; your neighbors friends and co-workers. We feel that building relationships with the people we are in contact with in our day to day lives is so vital in reaching those without hope. There is a reason why God has put you where you are. Look around you. There's someone God wants to reach. Just be available.
Outreach Ministry
The Outreach Ministry is also very important. It's all about going to those who can't come to you. People who are in jail, nursing homes, hospitals and the homeless. As ambassadors or Christ, we must bring to this multitude God's love and compassion.
To be the hands and feet of Jesus to a world filled with those who have been rejected and abandoned. To reach the unreachable. To touch the unctouchable. To be as our Savior, Who had compassion on those who were like sheep without a shepherd. To heal the broken-hearted. To set free those who are bound.
Love is the greatest gift we have to offer. And it's the greatest way to show our love to our Savior. When you've done it unto the least of these, you have done it unto Him.
